To date, the study of genetic variants explaining specific traits has been carried out on a variantbyvariant basis. However, it is often their combination that is of interest. In an article published in the journal Genome Biology, scientists describe a method combining mathematics, genetics and high-performance computing to create exhaustive interaction maps bringing together several tens of billions of interactions between genetic variants and enabling these combinations to be studied.
