We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Synteny Viewer within TAIR.  This tool features pre-computed syntenic comparisons between A.thaliana and genomes from 36 other plant species.  Syntenic comparisons were done using the SynMap tool at genomevolution.org. Users can search for syntelogs using either the locus (eg At1G01010) or the gene model (eg AT1G01010.1) or chromosomal location. Syntenous regions will be displayed using the GEvo visualization tool from genomevolution.org.
