Abstract

A laelapid and two ascid mite species are recorded and identified as new to science. The laelapid Androlaelaps bayoumi n. sp. was found to be phoretic on honey bee workers, Apis mellifera, in the Kom - Hamada district, Behira Governorate, Egypt. Blattisocius apis n. sp. was collected from a brood of A. mellifera in Moshtohor district, Qualubia Governorate, Egypt; while B. capsicum n. sp. occurred in association with the immature stages of a psocopterous insect inhabiting the stored hot pepper, Capsicum annuum in Zagazig district, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt.
