Inra-CEPIA project “New perspectives for the MSCF”

This project is entitled “New perspectives for the Multi-Stage Continuous Fermentor (MSCF): Study of fermentations with disturbances, and development of a control law” and is financially supported by the department CEPIA of INRA. It involves the two INRA Montpellier Units SPO and MISTEA and will last two years, from 2013 to 2014. It is coordinated by Marc Pérez (UMR SPO) and myself.

This project is the continuation of the work made within the CAFÉ project about the control of a wine fermentation process. The goal of the project is to extend the study to fermentations with nitrogen additions. From the control point of view, we study the control of both the sugar concentration and the CO2 production rate in each of the 4 reactors of a MSCF.
