Interplay between thioredoxin and glutathione pathways in plant development

Jean-Philippe Reichheld
Laboratoire Génome et Développement des Plantes de Perpignan

Intracellular redox status is recognized as a critical parameter determining plant development and response to environmental stress. Thioredoxin and glutathione have been shown to be key players of these regulations. Crosstalk between thioredoxin and glutathione pathways are known to occur. In order to decipher the interplays between thioredoxin and glutathione pathways, we generated multiple mutants in the two pathways. These mutants reveal new functions of both pathways in several developmental aspects including pollen fertility, apical meristem activity and auxin signalling.
