The “long-term objective” of his research group “is to develop an integrated molecular concept that can explain how plants manage simultaneously pathogenic and beneficial microbes to ensure plant survival and maximize plant fitness”. Recent work concerned e.g. the influence of phosphate availability on a switch between beneficial and defense responses (Nature Comm. 2016,7, 11362; doi:10.1038/ncomms11362).
