Managing micrsocopy data “fairly” with OMERO

The digital revolution has transformed the way we work with data in science, and microscopy is a clear example. Digital images are ubiquitous and, while they provide key advantages for the scientific-method, the management of scientific microscopy data is a challenge. This is even more obvious as journals and financing agents demand more responsible data management practices.

At Montpellier Ressources Imagerie (MRI), we are aware of the dificulties of managing scientific images and, therefore, we have put in place an OMERO server. OMERO (www.openmicroscopy.org) is an integrated solution to manage image data during all its lifetime, from the acquisition to the publication. In this seminar, I want to introduce and illustrate the potential of OMERO to organize, visualize, analyze, share and publish microscopy image data “fairly”
