IMAGE OF THE MONTH (September 2002)

Violent flasfloods left the Vézénobres silvoarable trees packed with
plastic debris last 9 September 2002. Rain totals reached 565 mm in 30
hours at some places. The Vézénobres experimental plot was seriously
damaged (30% of the trees were uprooted due to a heavy stream flooding the
plot). However, the poplar experiment is OK. The farmer Alain Baron expects
some difficulties to crop in the near future due to waterlogging (wheat was
supposed to be sown in October)
