AB  - The male of Macrocheles vernalis was studied from the progeny of phoretic females collected on the Moroccan dung beetle Scarabaeus sacer. New data on M. vernalis description and its biology are given. The position of this opportunistic and widely distributed Mediterranean species is discussed.
