Abstract

A small collection of mites parasitizing five species of bats from the Philippines, is studied. Seven species, of which two new, belonging to five genera and four families were recognized i. e. Neolaelaps spinosa (Berlese) (Laelapidae); Meristaspis mindanaoensis Delfinado and Baker, Meristaspis jordani philippinensis Prasad and Ancystropus zeleborii Kolenati (Spinturnicidae); Whartonia diosi n.sp. (Trombiculidae: Leeuwenhoekiinae); Teinocoptes philippinensis Klompen and Teinocoptes insignis n.sp. (Sarcoptidae: Teinocoptinae).
