Abstract

Four new species of the quill-inhabiting feather mites of the family Ascouracaridae are described: Ascouracarus chordeili sp. nov. from Chordeiles r. rupestris (Caprimulgidae); Cystoidosoma aratingae sp. nov. from Aratinga jandaya (Psittacidae), C. myiopsittae sp. nov. from Myiopsitta monachus (Psittacidae), Vassilevascus trapezoides sp. nov. from Trichoglossus haematodus forsteini (Loridae). A brief review of reference data and list of species described up to date are given.
