Abstract

5960 ixodid ticks (Boophilus annulatus, Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum, H. asiaticum, H. detritum, H. dromedarii, H. impeltatum, H. marginatum turanicum, H. schulzei and Rhipicephaltts sanguineus), identified according to Pomerantzev and Hoortraal, have been taken from domestic animais in southeast Iran in 1960. H. impeltatum is found to be new for Iran. A certain very arid part of Iranian Baluchistan is considered to be the home of H. schulzei. Distributional outlines of most species found within that region are discussed in connection with climatic conditions.
