Abstract
A diagnosis of the genus Chelanyssus Zumpt and Till is given. The type species, Chelanyssus aethiopicus IHirst), is redescribed and descriptions are given of two new species parasitic on bats in the Congo, C. longisetosus from Tadarida (Chaerephon) spillmanni (Monard) and C. spiniferus from Tadarida (Tadarida) ansorgei (Thomas).
