Abstract
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) peniscutum sp. nov. and Euschoengastia (Heaslipioides) comosa subgen. nov. and sp. nov. are deocribed and figured. The former is unique in the subgenus in that the scutum is reduced so that the posterolateral setae are displaced off the scutum. It was collected from Apodemus in the mountain-deserts of Gilgit. E. (H.) comosa from Alticola voles in the arctic-alpine zones of the Kaghan Valley is characterized by the presence of two pairs of post-postlateral setae on the scutum and many supernumerary hairs on dorsum and venter.
