Abstract
Contribution a l etude des acariens parasites d orthopteres Malgaches. 1. Le genre Podapolipus (Podapolipidae): diagnoses preliminaires d especes nouvelles - I describe four new species of Acari parasite on Madagascarian Orthopterae. They belong to the genus Podapolipus with the following remarks: 1) madagascariensis n. sp. is affined to P. grassii B. (1896) and P. diander V. (1940). 2) elongatus n. sp. possess two rounded pads on the body of the female, like P. reconditus R. and G. (r888), P. apodus T. (1902). 3) libratus n. sp. has straight pads like P. aharonii H. (1921). 4) lahillei n. sp. show ressemblance to P. berlesei L. (1906). I discuss therefore the meaning of several morphological data among the different known species of Podapolipus.
