Abstract

Etablissement d un lectotype pour Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) akamushi (Brumpt, 1910) (Acarina: Trombiculidae). A lectotype is designated for the type-species of the genus Leptotrombidium, i.e. Trombidimn akamushi Brumpt, 1910. It was provided by xonotypic and topotypic material, collected on Nlicrotus montebelloi from the AKITA Prefecture, the main japanese area of tsutsugamushi disease, and birthplace or the original material. The author states that a large amount of material classified erroneously in the past as akamushi, has to be removed and ranged under separate taxons, already existing or to be created. Most of malaysian akamushi after TRAUB and Aunv are renamed: Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidimn) fletcheri.
