Abstract

Blankaartia acuscutellans (Acarina: Trombiculidae) et son extension au continent Africain. - B. acuscutellaris has a large distribution in Oriental Region, on varions birds and rodents, namely those frequenting rice-fields. Larvae belonging undoutedly to this species were collected from different kinds of hosts in Equatorial Africa; all were collected in damp biotopes. This enlargment of range from Asia was made very likely by birds migrating or only moving to African Coast.
