The type species, Dicrocheles phalaenodectes (Treat), known only from the New World, is redescribed with collection records. D. scedastes, D. pelates, and D. eothenes, from various parts of the Old World, are described as new. It is proposed that the genus be included among those comprising the dermanyssid subfamily Iphiopsinae.
