Tetranychus urticae photoresponse

Abstract

On the basis of behavioural responses, it is concluded that far-red light, but not near infrared, has a generalised excitatory effect on the motor response of Tetranychus urticae Koch. The photoreceptor for this spectral region is not in the eyes.
