Abstract

- Using species of Falculifer and Pterophagus (Falculiferidae) from Columbidae and Proctophyllodes (Proctophyllodidae) from Ploceidae (Passerinae), discordances between distribution of feather mites and their hosts are demonstrated. Hypotheses for these discordances are presented.
