Abstract

In January 1974 in the gallery of the bark beetle Ips typographus (L.) a single mite Cunaxa setirostris (Herm.) was collected, inside the body of which a large amounts of guanine was observed. This was caused in all probability by disturbances of some life function, which in extreme cases may be a direct cause of the mite s death.
