Abstract
The mite Brevipalpus phoenicis (Geijskes) was reared in the laboratory оп two different host plants viz. оуохуlum indicum and сгеуоаеnауоn siphonanthus to study the biology and time taken to complete the life cycle. The life cycle completed in 20 .02 and 29.66 days at an average temperature of 21.200 С and 26.600 С оп О. indicum and 28.34 and 20.20 days оп С. siphonanthus food plant respectively. The duration of different stages is highly affected Ьу the temperature. Approximately 9 generations were reared in а уеаг.
