Abstract
A review on respiratory taenidia of Oribatid mites is made. Discovery of taenidia in sorne species of Otocepheidae, Limnozetidae and Ameronothridae; description of the taenidial system of Dolicheremaeus ajricanus (Wallwork). The function of this organ and its possible coexistence with trichobothrial regression are discussed.
