Abstract

A study about activity of Rhipicephalus (Digeneus) bursa larvae, under natural conditions has been carried out. Special attention is focused to the role played by the microclimatological data. From our results, it seems to be evident that the ground temperature and sun-light intensity have the greatest effect on the tick population. A new statistical procedure based on population status is proposed to determine the number of active ticks
