Abstract
The genus Gamasiphis is revised and eight new species are described from St. Lucia, Lesser Antilles. A key for the identification of 24 species is given. Members of this genus on St. Lucia appear to play an important role as predatory soil mites whereas species of Parasitidae which form a dominant predatory component of Palaearctic soils are very rare.
