Abstract

Five new species and a new subspecies of oribatid mites obtained from branches of Araucaria angustifolia at 10 m above the ground level in Santa Catarina State (Brazil) are described. These species are the following: Humerobates flechtmanni n.sp., Galumna mystax n.sp., Oripoda araucariae n.sp., Ceratozetes catarinensis n.sp. and Trichoribates serratus n.sp.; the new subspecies is Dometorina plantivaga brasiliana n.subsp., A cosmopolitan arboreal oribatid mite, Camisia segnis (HERMANN, 1804), has been also found.
