Dear DIYABC users,

We would like to inform you that:

We do not have presently the capacity to ensure any technical support (i.e. bug corrections or developments) of the presently available version of DIYABC-v1.0.4.46beta. This is because all our research and developmental resources are presently used for the coding and finalization of a new multiplatform version of DIYABC (v2). We apologize for this inconvenience. You nevertheless can still use the forum to exchange ideas and advises. We hope to have the new multiplatform DIYABC package ready for diffusion to the scientific community around DECEMBER 2012. This new version will include many new useful options including linear discriminant analysis to compute probability of scenarios and SNP datasets analysis. We also hope that it will be more stable than the previous Microsoft Window version of DIYABC.
We found that the cluster version of DIYABC-v1.0.4.46beta to be unstable.
We found that the Microsoft Windows version of DIYABC-v1.0.4.46beta with graphical interface to be unstable in a Microsoft Windows 7 environment (cf. occurrence of unexplained bugs in this environment). DIYABC-v1.0.4.46beta should be hence preferentially used in a Microsoft Windows XP environment.

Summary :

DIYABC is a computer program with a graphical user interface and a fully click-able environment. It allows population biologists to make inference based on Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC), in which scenarios can be customized by the user to fit many complex situations involving any number of populations and samples. Such scenarios involve any combination of population divergences, admixtures and population size changes. DIYABC can be used to compare competing scenarios, estimate parameters for one or more scenarios, and compute bias and precision measures for a given scenario and known values of parameters (the current version applies to unlinked microsatellite data).
