Of these, 7 Scutacarus Gros and 9 lmparipes Berlese are figured and described as new. A majority of the mites reported were found on halictid and andrenid bees, or living in bee nest cells. Species of Imparipes appear to be more closely associated with their insect hosts than species of Scutacarus. Males and larvae of lmparipes are reported for the first time in bee habitat indicating a close mite-bee association. These mites appear to be dependent on bees and may be restricted to living with the bees in a parasitic or commensal relationship. Imparipes americanus (Banks) is a new combination. 107 figures are presented. ER -
