Two new species are described: Ptilonyssits vossi from the house wren (Troglodytes aedon), and P. melissae from the purple finch (Carpodacus pitrpitreus). New host records are recorded for P. saitae from the Nashville warbler (Verinivora tuficapilla), orange-crowned warbler (Vermivora celata), painted bunting (Passerina ciris), rufous-crowned sparrow (Aimophila ritficeps), American goldfinch (Spimts tristus), Harris sparrow (Zonotrichia querula), and grasshopper sparrow (Aminodramus savannarum); P. nwrofskyi from the Harris sparrow (Zonotrichia querula).
