Abstract

The genera of the family Macrochelidae are reviewed and possible intergeneric relationships are discussed. The genera Macrholaspis Oudemans and Andrholaspis Turk are placed into synonymy with Macrocheles Latreille. Neoholaspis Turk is synonymized with Holocelaeno Berlese, and Prholaspina Berlese is made a synonym of Holostaspella Berlese. Neoholaspis cooremani (Cooreman) is placed in the genus Macrocheles. The genus Trigonholaspis Vitzthum is redefined, and three species formerly assigned to this group are given separate generic standing. The following genera and species are proposed: Grafia n. gen.; type species Grafia trigonantm (Vitzthum). Ancistrocheles n. gen.; type species Ancistrocheles bregetovae n. sp. A key to genera is included, along with keys to species of Geholaspis Berlese, Grafia n. gen., and Lordocheles Krantz.
