Abstract

Two larval nematodes, possibly 2nd or 3rd-stage larvae of Litomosa sp., were found in a gravid female Macronyssoides kochi collected in 1965 from a female Artibeus jamaicensis in Venezuela. Because most filariids are host-specific for their vectors and as the larvae had undergone development in the mite, it is suggested that M. kochi is a vector for some filariids of bats.
