Abstract

Full descriptions and figures of six new species and one new subspecies of myobiid mites of the genus Eudusbabekia Jameson, 1971, all collected on the Suriname members of the leaf-nosed bats of the subfamily Phyllostominae, are given. They are E. trachopis sp. n., ex Trachops cirrhosus cirrhosus (Spix), E. lzastata sp. n., ex Phyllostomus hastatus hastatus (Pallas), E. anthorhinae sp. n., ex Niimon (Anthorhina) crenulatum (E. Geoffroy), E. micronycteridis sp. n., ex Micronycteris megalotis megalotis (Gray), E. brachyotis sp. n., ex Micronycteris brachyotis (Dobson), E. macrophyllum sp. n., ex Macrophyllum macrophyllmn (Wied), and E. phyllostomi imguiculata ssp. n., ex Phyllostomus elongatus (E. Geoffroy). Complementary specification of the generic characterization, including body chaetotaxy and chaetotaxy and solenidiotaxy of legs in adults as well as developmental stages, are also presented.
