Abstract

In this review of demodicid pathogenesis, information on taxonomie discrimination, gross signs of disease, and histological details of lesions is updated. Particular attention is paid to invasions of the hast digestive system, infestations of eccrine glands, subdermal invasions, and formation of the granulomatous response. Techniques used in these studies are discussed, as well as areas in need of further investigation.
