On the occurrence of Claparede organs in the Halacaridae (Acari: Actinedida)

Abstract
Organs of Claparede were identified in representatives of two of seven genera of Halacaridae examined- Thalassarachna and Agaue. The organ is vestigal, attaining the level of development seen in prelarvae of other acariform groups.
