Abstract

Eight species of the faculiferid genus Cheiloceras Trouessart, 1898, are (re)described and illustrated; a 11 species are from the avian family Columbidae (pigeons and doves): C. cervus Trouessart, 1898, from Caloenas nicobarica (Pelzeln, 1865), New Guinea; C. retusum Trouessart, 1898, from Ducitla bicolor (Scopoli, 1786), New Guinea; C. taurits Trouessart, 1898, from Ditcitla pinion (Quoy and Gaimard, 1824), New Guinea; C. ancoratum, n. sp., from Ducitla latrans (Peale, 1848), Fiji Islands; C. cornulatuin, n. sp., from Turacoena modesta (Temminck, 1835), lVIoluccas, Indonesia; C. foliatimi, n. sp., from Ditcula radia ta (Quoy and Gaimard, 1830), Celebes, Indonesia; C. megachelicum, n. sp., from Ducula brenchleyi (Gray, 1870), from Salomon Islands; C. serritlatmn, n. sp., from Ducula goliath (Gray, 1859) New Caledonia.
