Abstract

Twenty-one species of Macrocheles are identified as associates of North American small mammals. Macrocheles rotundiscutis Bregetova and Koroleva is reported from North America for the first time, and the following nine species are described as new: Macrocheles adenostictlls. M. areolallus. M. dolichosternlls. M. maseri. M. mesochtonius. M. nemerdarills. M. polypunctatus M. polysticus, and M. spickai. Diagnoses of the adults of an undescribed species of Macrocheles associated with small mammals and silphid beetles (YODER, in ms) also are included.
