Abstract

An imago of Chersodromia speculifera Walker (Empididae: Diptera: Hexapoda), parasitized by three larvae of Trombidium (Trombidium) poriceps (Oudemans) syn. Atomus parasiticus de Geer (Trombidiidae: Prostigmata: Acarina), was collected from the supralittoral zone on the Isles of Scilly. The attachment of the parasites to surface of the host was examined with the scanning electron microscope.
