Comparison of two species of mites of the same genus, Riccardoella associated with Mollusks

The published literature reveals some confusion between two similar species of mite, Riccardoella limacum and Riccardoella oudemansi. It is confirmed that R. limacum lives on snails and R. oudemansi on slugs and the differences between the two are clarified by means of a SEM study.
