Abstract

We report a study of the trombiculid chiggers parasitizing a sample of 597 sm ail mammals from Galicia (Spain). Nine species. were identified, of which Neotrombicula (Neotrombicula) dubinini, lf. (Hirsutiella) zachvatkini, Heaslipia tarda, Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) silvaticum, Helenicula olsufjeri, Schoutedenichia dipodilli and Cheladonta ikaoensis are cited for the first time in Spain.
