Abstract

This paper is the first part of a study on the soil oribatid fauna of Uruguay. Three new species are described, namely: Pheroliodes uruguayensis n. sp., Furcoppia (Monofurcoppia) austroamericana n. sp. and Eremaeozetes verai n. sp.; a new subgenus is created for the monodactylous Furcoppia species.
