Abstract

In this note, a new species Plesiodamaeus tabuencai n. sp. is described; it was collected in the area of the Chancani Parc and Forest Reserve, Cordoba Province, Pocho Department, in the Argentina Republic, from Prosopis flexuosa and Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco litter (Phytogeographic Province Chaquena district Serrano Oriental). Plesiodamaeus tabuencai n. sp. displays noticeable differences with other species of the genus. It is characterised by: the type of cerotegument; the shape of the prodorsum and notogaster; the type and shape of the insertion of in and gastronotic setae, and the epimeric chaetotaxy. The synthesis of the systematic position of the species of the genus Plesiodamaeus in the neotropical area is given.
