Abstract

In this work we studied the mite faunal composition present in house dust collected in homes of patients with respiratory symptoms in the towns of Santa Cruz and La Laguna, Tenerife (Spain). The frequencies of species occurrence were: Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (99%), Euroglyphus maynei (23%), Tyrophagus putrescentiae (18%), Dermatophagoides farinae (15%), Blomia tropicalis (13%), Lepidoglyphus destructor (6%), Chortoglyphus arcuatus (5%), Glycyphagus domesticus (<1%), Caloglyphus berlesei (<1%) and Histiostoma feroniarum (<1%).
