Abstract

A new species, Oripoda benegasi (Acari, Oribatida, Oripodidae), living on Tillandsia spp., found on the rocky surfaces in the mountains of the Translasierra Valley, Cordoba province, Argentina, is described. The description is based on the adult and tritonymph stases. Comparison with two other species of the genus living in Argentina is made.
